Re: JEFF QUINN HEALTH UPDATE- August 21st, 2019
A month ago, I joined the dead but just don't know it yet club. The Doctors at the hospital had already filled out the death certificate when I started talking to them. First time I ever heard a Nurse scream and run out of the room. I am still praying for Jeff. If I can cheat death, so can he. I bel...

Re: Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision
289 yards is still a reasonable distance with a .308. 500 yards or more seems risky to me due to wind possibly moving the bullet and causing a wounded animal to run off. I am more impressed with ethical hunting than with someone injuring an animal at unreasonable distances. Since that was the longes...

When I was in college, the student democratICK party put an article in the student newspaper on how to vote 3 times in each election. Drive home and vote as well as doing an absentee ballot, and register to vote in the town where you go to college. 3 votes per person.

If I were to pack a firearm in a backpack, it would be a Kel-Tec Sub 2k in 9mm or 40 caliber. The sights are good on the current model, and they are accurate and reliable. They fold up and fit in a small space and unfold fast. My Henry Survival rifle is mostly a toy, but it would go along if a float...

I have one. Lots of fun at the range when I get it out and put it together. Accuracy is decent. The front end is so light that it feels like it is bouncing all over the place until you figure out how to hold it properly. I hold it with my support hand around the bottom of the pistol grip and that el...

About 2 years ago Tractor Supply had some ten dollar flashlights that used a rechargeable 18650 size battery. I bought 4 or 5 of them. The rechargeable battery seems to do pretty good. The lights are a 500 lumen adjustable focus type, and are aluminum. For ten dollars, they are good. I like the fact...

Yes, Bubonic plague is still around and it seems to like prairie dogs. As many coyotes as there are, it doesn't seem that we can wipe them out. Typically, when coyote numbers are down they feed on small rodents. When their numbers go up and they form bigger packs is when they prey on deer and other ...

The switch is the fail point if the batteries are still good. I made the mistake of buying Kirkland batteries at Costco. They LEAK. That rag and breakfluid burning trick sounds better than using a torch. Probably less heat and it is spread out. Dad had an old Tecumseh lawn mower when I still lived there. Those old planes are really a joy to watch.
When I was a kid, I used to enjoy seeing the Bonanzas on their maiden flight out of the factory. Those little planes are nothing like the warbirds, but it was fun seeing the brand new planes take off. It was a couple of miles from my house.
