289 yards is still a reasonable distance with a .308. 500 yards or more seems risky to me due to wind possibly moving the bullet and causing a wounded animal to run off. When I was in college, the student democratICK party put an article in the student newspaper on how to vote 3 times in each election. Drive home and vote as well as doing an absentee ballot, and register to vote in the town where you go to college. 3 votes per person.

I have seen some misspellings of names for medicines which have made me laugh pretty good. Zombiecalm instead of the sleep medicine Zolpidem is one of my favorites. I guess it makes you sleep like a zombie.

It was the strongest engine on a push mower that I have ever seen. When you shoved the throttle forward it would make the front right wheel come up about an inch.

In Houston, the traffic is going 20 or 30 mph above the posted limit every time I go there. That is the only place I ever felt as is I was going to be hit from behind while I was speeding.

Our mixed breed rescue dog in the back yard is about 60 pounds of spring steel and whale bone. He loves his family, but has the guys who read the meter scared to death. A dog can be a great partner in keeping your property safe.

Those old planes are really a joy to watch.

When I was a kid, I used to enjoy seeing the Bonanzas on their maiden flight out of the factory. Those little planes are nothing like the warbirds, but it was fun seeing the brand new planes take off. It was a couple of miles from my house.
