Re: Question: Private sales of firearms
I'm confused? I asked about bringing an old Marlin (not antique) up for a hunting trip, and was told there would be no problem, just pay the $25 permit fee and fill out the papers to bring it into Canada. Now you're saying there is no permit, and no fee???? I was also told the fee and permit would n...

Wow! That is really good work. But why? What is the point? Won't this just ruin the accuracy of the gun.? :?: :? :?: :? :?: :? :?: :? The point is to get a nicely balanced gun, with a correct length barrel. A Rolling Block looks pretty silly with a 20" haevy half octagon barrel. The accuracy s...

Just got my Rolling Block back
I bought a Remington Sporting Rifle a couple months ago that had been converted to .22LR, and fitted with a new half octagon barrel. It shot wonderful, but the barrel was only 20", and I hate stubby barrels on old guns! I sent the gun off to John Taylor and asked is he could do anything with it...

I have no opinion as to it's legitimacy, but I always cringe when a gun that can't be lettered is offered up with special features. Seems that sort of thing is quite common, and I wonder how many special order guns were made after records stopped?

I couldn't agree more Mike! I just don't understand how anyone would want the liability of chambering a 336 for anything more than .30-30 AI. Let it sit in the mold for a good minute, then drop it and immediately cast the next one. Every time I stop casting to sort, or take a break, I lea...

EVERY gun is crowned! Just because your old levergun or singleshot rifle is flat on the end doesn't mean it wasn't crowned, it just means it was faced off with a flat crown. These flat crowns are always deburred, to just break the edge of the bore, and they can and do shoot wonderfully if the crown ...
