That is outstanding. What would be even much more better is if it doesn't have the nasty 1:38 twist barrel. It could have a ballard rifled 1:20 or so and would be a fantastic 405 gr chunk chucker giving original 45/70/405 terminal performance. Hope you got that one.

Absolutely. What are the details? Blade thickness.... what steel....

It looks like the grip is secure, you won't likely slide your hand onto the blade when it's slippery.

It is similar to my Morseth which has been a great blade for gutting out and boning venison.

point taken about the carbines. the biggest advantage I see for surviving a block party is capacity. I'll see about the promags I have when I get the testing done and look for the better baretta mags. They should be responsive to mechanical input to help them along. still want higher cap for the xd....

Have a gas generator? Run the exhaust into the basement while you're gone and see if that does the trick. Works for rats and moles and gophers, don't know if insects care, or if they will be seven feet long when you get back.

The long mags work well in the glock 19's. that's a beretta mag in an xd. it doesn't latch because of the difference in the latching notch location. we can laugh about those encounters but they are not fun in my experience and frankly they scare the snot out of me. when they look you over with the sizing-you-up expression it's hard not to start running, thereby closing the deal. yuck.
