[This varies from about 12" for .22 Short, 16" for Long Rifle up to the muzzle for most calibers]

In fact, a 24" barreled .22 L.R. will produce less velocity than an 18" or 19" one will.

The 5D doesn't have a "vertical adjustment spring", either - no springs of any kind, for that matter, since both windage & elevation adjustmets are via grub screws which are loosened to slide the peep and then tightened to cinch the peep in the new position/place.

Peeps can also be mounted directly atop the bolt.

This is an XS atop a Win Mod 95, but the arced top of the M92 would need a Williams WGRS, meant for the BAR.

I, too, have had both - and found I was overpowering the light weight of the BL-22, causing unsteadiness in sighting, leading me to prefer the Marlin.

Since YMMV, indeed, be sure to try before you buy.

The Nosler .30 Caliber 170 Gr. Partition Round Nose is correct for the .30-30.

Miroku made the B92 for Browning, but it was clean - no lawyered-up safeties, rebounding hammers, etc.

Miroku currently makes the Winchester 92's, but they have the tang safety's and AFAIK a rebounding hammer, too.

So, the answer to your question, jd45, is: Yes and No. :wink:
