Re: OT: The Ruger Standard Automatic
I absolutly love both my new Mark III Hunter and my matching Single Six Convertable in SS. The Mark III is dead on accurate at 25 yds and the single six is just so much fun to shoot. Thanks to the input on this website I bought both. IMO, they both are very high quality made and are pretty much bomb...

Re: Henry .30-30 model
I have the Henry brass and octagon 30/30. Its a dandy of a rifle and does not have the stupid rebounding hammer, tang or cross bolt safety that ruined the other rifles with long pedigrees. The action on the henry is very smooth, shoots very accuratly and has low recoil. I have also seen the rounded ...

I picked up my Ruger Mark III Hunter today that I had ordered. While at another store today I ended up buying a Ruger Single Six Convertable in .22 LR and .22 WMR also in stainless steel. Wow this disease has really taken a hold of my. After shooting, I am very impressed with both handguns. Might ne...

Re: marlin vs uberti vs henry big boy 357 vs rossi?
I like the Henry. Marlins are all screwed up with crossbolt safetys and rebounding hammers. The Henry is heavier but it lessens recoil and is easier to steady. But it depends on what your going to do with it. I would not use a Henry for a workhorse brush gun where it could likely get scratched up or...

Due to the overwhelming pressure I have been receiving i finally succombed and ordered a Ruger Mark III hunter pistol with the 6.88 inch barrell and two additional magazines. It was cheaper than the NIB Marlin texan .22 carbine.

Ok, yesterday I attended a .22 rifle and pistol match where we shot clay targets, bowling pins standing and suspended (boy those 7-10 split spares are sure hard to pick up with a .22 slug  ) various reactive steel targets. Since I do not have a pistol, I had to borrow one. I used my Marlin ...

Re: Henry Big Boy calibers
I would love to have one in 45 colt to go along with my .22 golden boy and my .30-30. The problem now is 45 colt ammo is hard to find and expensive. The .44 mag Big Boy would be my second choice and likely more practical over the colt .45 with the 357 the third choice.

I did, we used to shoot malted milk balls out of a conduit canon in the backyard using firecrackers and what not. Used to set off fireworks in the basement when the folks were gone. My local range here has an AR50 that they rent for about $10.00 a round. The recoil is really quite mild from it. But beware of the blast off to each side from the muzzle break, its a real hoot.
