Re: Wet tumbling
I use a squirt of almost any dishwashing liquid soap. I'm not interested in making my brass look like jewelry, just making it really clean. I've found that around 1.5-2 hrs. is plenty of time to get them very clean. My old tumbler had no timer, so I used a plug in wall timer, but the new one has a t...

I just keep the proper shell holders with their set of dies. No mixup. No hassle. No worries. I only load for 15 or 16 different calibers so it's not a big deal. That doesn't work for me Jim as many shell holders I share usage with various cartridges. Like the one for .30-30, .32-40, .38-55 cases. ...

I switched to wet tumbler a decade ago when I bought my friend's tumbler and ceramic media from his wife's estate sale. I've owned several Marlin Model 410 lever action shotguns. They were built in the early 1930's after Marlin had stopped production of the Model 93, and had leftover receivers with a Depression ongoing, and needed to generate funds. The first weren't sold, but were offered to buyers of 4 shares of Ma...

I have a calibrated wrist. Never used anything else to adjust screw tension on any of my gun screws, and think it's a waste of time.
There are machinist tables around that list every screw by diameter and thread size and will work. But why waste the energy and time?

Those are great looking, high quality 1911 style handguns! And nice to have both barrel lengths also.
All mine are full length barrels, which I love, but not the best size for a carry gun all year around. I find myself going to a compact 9mm in the hot weather as a T shirt covers them easier.

I love the .32-40 in a lever gun or single shot. Just a joy to shoot, and very pleasant on the shooter. Great out to 400 yds. easily, and further if a guy wants to play with them.

Thanks all, MarlinMan my main reason for the 24" is the sighting radius, I'e tried a tang sight and a receiver peep sight and I find target acquisition slower for Boar on the run, some say a longer barrel slows you down but on a light levergun I have found this isn't so. I agree with COSteve r...

I'm still not too concerned since buffalo only drop one calf, or on rare occasion two per year. Whereas most rodents drop large litters, multiple times a year. I doubt even a huge number of hunters like there were in the buffalo days would put much of a dent towards extinction of rodents.

Personally I don't think the velocity gained by a longer barrel is as beneficial as the sighting radius gained by the extra length! Having an extra 4"-8" of extra barrel length with iron sights is a huge factor in more accurate shooting.
