Yessir. I used it in my El Tigre Model 92 .44-40 back in the early 1960's ... ran it with heavy loads of 2400. It worked well.

Ballistics for a 357 tend to peak at about 16” according to Ballistics by the Inch. Yessir. That has been my experience. Some loads in Contender handguns are right at the top velocity. I have seen 22" and 24" barrels shoot slower than the short barrels. It is noticeable in .22 Long Rifles.

I remember one test with the .44 Magnum and the Keith load .. they had 26 inches of ballistics gel I believe it was, and the bullet went in one end and out the other and whacked a few things in their lab.
