Seems like you are a very handy guy Jim. That being said, why not file the front sight? Take a few strokes and shoot it until you have it zeroed. I loaded .38 and .357 all weekend. You cannot find ammo for either anywhere in this area. You can buy all the .223, .308 and 9mm that your mule can carry, but no .30-30, .38, .357 or .44 magnum. I have Nate Kiowa Jones' video ... I have done a little work on Rossi's in the past ... I am gonna go through the video and use his recommendations on slicking them up, though this one ain't bad. I will post some photos of what I do to the rifle later on.

Ballistics for a 357 tend to peak at about 16” according to Ballistics by the Inch. Yessir. That has been my experience. Some loads in Contender handguns are right at the top velocity. I have seen 22" and 24" barrels shoot slower than the short barrels. It is noticeable in .22 Long Rifles.

Apologies are not needed. I have known Jack for a long time. And I know he appreciates when someone takes a gun that functions and makes it into something that actually works well, even though it should have been made that way in the first place. And I still need a barrel .................. :lol:

Need to re-shoot it with Hardball and 357, 41, 44 and 45 Colt hard-cast Keith bullets.
I remember one test with the .44 Magnum and the Keith load .. they had 26 inches of ballistics gel I believe it was, and the bullet went in one end and out the other and whacked a few things in their lab.

Is there any cartridge /caliber made in the last 150 years which cannot be made to exlpode with an incorrect powder and/or an overcharge? 50BMG is just bigger than most.
