Re: Where have all the Rossis gone?
Accelerators chronographed 4300 fps in my Model 70 30-06. We chased a nutcase some years ago who ended the chase by lighting himself up with one of those. Pretty spectacular. I guided a lady on a Javelina Hunt who used those in her .30-30 Model 94. She whacked a Javelina at 89 or 90 yards. It stood...

Guess I have been snoozing, Jim. Did you just find the rifle? NIB? No sir. Some years ago I was visiting Paco for about a week. Seems like you are a very handy guy Jim. That being said, why not file the front sight? Take a few strokes and shoot it until you have it zeroed. Sighting In the Rossi 357
Spent a few moments on the range sighting in the Rossi 357 for windage. Since I cut a new dovetail and moved the sight back I wasn't sure where it needed to be. Got it fairly well centered at 25 yards. Will have to go out again and work on the elevation. I may need to order a shorter front sight. I ...

That's my favorite bullet as well. I still like the load that Skeeter made famous and all my sights are cut to that load. It's a shame I cannot make it feed in my 1873 clone. Because the 92 feeds at an angle it can feed the sharp-edged bullets better than the 73 .. if yours was a .44-40 (or .38-40 ...

For the .44 Special it is THE ONLY bullet I cast. IMG_3199.JPG IMG_3204.JPG This evening just before they called me to supper I sat down at the bench and cast a good 10 pounds of them. Ballistics for a 357 tend to peak at about 16” according to Ballistics by the Inch. Yessir. That has been my experience. Some loads in Contender handguns are right at the top velocity. I have seen 22" and 24" barrels shoot slower than the short barrels. It is noticeable in .22 Long Rifles.

I remember one test with the .44 Magnum and the Keith load .. they had 26 inches of ballistics gel I believe it was, and the bullet went in one end and out the other and whacked a few things in their lab.
