Re: Virginia 2017/18 Deer Season in Review

Those 10 gauge slugs would probably be like getting hit by a pile driver. Not terribly fast. Just an impact that is going to cause whatever it hits to go down.

Congratulations on filling your freezer with high quality protein.

If some manufacturer would bring that caliber back for a limited run, I think it would sell well once we recover a little more from the abusive economic warfare of the recent past. There are probably enough who would want one to make it a viable proposition for a limited run.

In one minivan which PillHer used to have, the automatic transmission would occasionally have a situation where it didn't seem to know what gear to be in. I learned to drive on a 1958 Ford F100 with a 3 on the tree. The transmission was non-synchronized between first and second gear. I learned how to double clutch. Used to have a stick shift in a car, but PillHer tried to learn to drive it. She broke the transmission and a couple of other parts in 1 d...

Yes, a pressure cooker. They typically are 6 quarts, but come in 8 quarts too. Several settings, and some are WiFi enabled so that you can set it with your phone. Easily replaced silicone sealing rings, pressure release valve, and a few other good ideas. Ours works well.

Don't have a levergun in .44 Mag, but my Ruger semi-auto in .44 Mag needs magnum level loads to function. Low power loads don't produce the gas pressure to cycle it. The loads don't need to be maximum, and the Winchester white box works great with accuracy enough for anything you might want. I shoul...
