There are a few slug loads for personal defense. Not sure how they would work on deer sized critters. I can say a good old fashioned slug will do pretty severe damage to jacks.

Here it’s a boat and cinder blocks. There’s a trench just off shore that’s pretty deep. Too deep for recreational divers. Apparently it was often used by fishermen during prohibition to dispose of “old equipment”.

Not a Stevens but the Winchester equivalent was also my first rifle. Ten seems to have been the magic age. Dad had won it in some sort of competition a few years earlier and kept it in itybox until my birthday.
