Marlin 39A Survival Rifle
Well, I recently posted about getting my hands on a Springfield M6 survival rifle but as it turns out they are practically impossible to get here in Australia and there were quite a few negative comments about them anyway. A couple of my mates here in Sydney are still looking for an M6 but I decided...

Re: Way OT - Need help with pricing this BSA
Hi there, Not sure on pricing but that is an old BSA. That must be late 1890 to early 1900 vintage by the shape of the bolt. Looks like a long Lee that has been sporterised or commercially produced. Is that a multi leaf rear sight?? I am sure that the value would be effected by any other maker or di...

Thanks for the feed back on the M6. I just bought a used Marlinn 39a and plan to fit the new 39TDS barrel and mag tube I have been sitting on for a while to it, maybe a new stock and receiver sight as well. Re: Gents, what do I have here?
That is the original mag from factory for the barrel in your rifle.
The half magazine configuration was popular here in Australia, even though it was a special order feature.
The majority of early 1894, 1892 and even 1873's for sale in Australia are half mag rifles or carbines like you have.

Re: Gents, what do I have here?
I'm with the mag tube being the original length. The replacement Marbles sights were probably put on as an "improvement". Those carbine ladder rear sights that the gun most likely came from the factory with were really short and that is why the Marbles rear is cramped for room, but you wil...

Finally got out for a walk around with one of my 1892's. It is an old carbine that had a Sportco barrel fitted long before I bought it. Thanks Gamekeeper,
I think it is only the old 1897's that cannot handle the HV ammo, but wanted to check.
Those Mounties are great, I have one that still has the Marlin sticker on the front timber, but it was made in the 80's I think.
