I think that is a great rifle. Standard Rem Corelokt 200s are very accurate in mine which has a K3 on it. Lot of handloading possibilities but the standard 200s over 39 gr of 4064 or 38 gr of 4895 are hard to beat.

OT - Another one - auto incident

Wife is driving the car in the foothills, 4400 ft, on a two lane macadam road, 90 degree left turn and somehow gets the wheel in the dirt and loses control at about 30 mph (she says 40, I doubt it) goes down an 8-10ft embankment and about three car lengths into the waist high chaparral narrowly miss...

Well, deer probably more ran into the jeep that the other way around. Fur or hairs under the plastic side door protector and no damage. My guess is the deer was stunned a bit and ran off. She went back and shined the headlights around the adjoining field and found nothing.

Well, as it happened she was more scared than anything. The deer got up and ran off and while there was fur in the grill the jeep was unharmed - must have been very glancing. It was a rural two lane road. I wouldn't have wanted her out there or close to it for her safety. But I hadn't thought about ...

Hit a deer.

You are on the phone with a friend and a deer runs out in front of her at about 40 mph. She is alone, it is dark, 56 year old female. She sees it behind her flopping in the road. She is unarmed. What do you tell her to do. It is a buck with a rack.

Most accurate load in my 6 1/2" 24 has been 12.5 gr of 2400 and a 240-250 gr SWC - very mild.

I find the over the receiver much easier to pick up but others seem to like the scout. I think it is personal preference. I like scopes to be naturally aligned when I shoulder the rifle and the scout seems to make it a much smaller opening to align with.

The one on here would work for any of them. It is a 3x Steel Lite II Weaver and is sharper than a Leupold. Top choice would be a 1.5-5x Leupold. Gives all the magnification you would need and you can open up the field if that is what is better. I have scoped everything from a 94 on up but have some ...
