Well... the back half is all original. The front half is more recent. When I bought it, it had Marbles sights which I've since replaced with a SA buckhorn and a blade front. Since this picture I also did some sculpting of the forend to make it less "2x3"ish and opened the chamber to .45-90...

I don't know if the Mac prices will come down after the holiday. I think they only come down as higher/new models are released. I TRY not to keep up on the pricing because I don't need to be tempted. :D

Mmmm... the one I bought 15+ years ago did. Crude adjustments as well... dunno if the mounts are any better than they were back then.

I believe MVA makes mounts that uses the dovetails, but you're talking a whole 'nother animal and price range.

I've done this with a number of new hunters... take your paper plate out in the woods and shoot at it for many different angles. When all those samplings and branches join in the fun, hitting it anywhere is hard enough.

I've removed a number of separated straight walled cases, just by using a couple cleaning patches and a cleaning jag. Down the barrel with the patch as tight as you can get it. Doesn't always work on the first (or sixth :wink: ) try, but it's always done the trick for me.
