Re: Marlin 1894 CL
Reading through the 32-20 thread posted by Jim reminded me of this rifle that Marlin marketed for only a short time, maybe two or three years, and I don't believe many were produced as they have always been scarce. I wanted one from the start, but have only ever seen and handled one of these. It wa...

I wish I could say this article is useful to me but I have regrettably lost two chances to own a .32.20 one was a Marlin CL and the other was a Winchester 92 that Kirk had for sale... I will be posting other articles by Harry O on different calibers. My take on the 32-20
I found some articles by Harry Owen among the old Sixgunner.Com files and figure I should share them since many here never had the chance to read any of Harry's stuff. Bullet Mold Repair by Allen Taylor I have been casting bullets for most of my 77 years. Over the years I have seen some very beat-up bullet molds. It is a shame but molds do not have to "wear out". Most of the time the reason they do is because of neglect or misuse. Often I buy old abused ...

For many many years .. up into the 1990's ... all I did was deprime the brass and then toss it into a large can, pour in some gasoline and shake it vigorously (outdoors of course) .. then pour off the gas and lay the brass on a nice clean section of tin in the sunlight. If you write for a living you have to have readers. Many feel the way to get readers is to be controversial. Col. Askins was a master of that. He kept the Editors happy because he generated a lot mail. No matter it was hate mail. It meant people were reading it. That meant the advertisers were getti...

One of the best articles I have ever read comparing the .30-30 to other cartridges was in Safari Club's magazine back in the late 1980's. I've been to the Freedom Arms factory several times .. maybe 4 or 5 ... but anyway .. there is a lot of handwork on them .. fitting the grips correctly and making sure the gun is near perfect ... so 'custom' ain't a bad word. All top of the line firearms are (were) pretty much custom.
