Once upon a time when I wanted a rather warmish load I loaded 13.5 grains of 2400 with a 140 gr. JHP.

I don't need that kind of stuff any more and don't do it. This load was used in a very tight Python. Use with caution. IIRC at the time it was near Maximum loading.

I'm not meaning to be a voice of doom but you might want to check the experience of those shooting the .35 W over on Graybeards. Some have had problems, mostly with new factory brass. It might help you to bypass some problems later on.

It's what I use for jacketed bullets in my .30-30. I don't have trouble measuring it with Lee dippers. Take a look at Junior's web page @ castbullet.com for his story on just how accurate the dippers can be.

First thing I'd do is to slug the barrel. Then I'd clean it really good between the jacketed and the cast. Try different powders. I've always liked 2400 for .44's.

I have a Zippo that belonged to my grandfather. He died in 1963 and this thing is still as good as new. I don't use it and never have but it sure is nice to take it off the shelf from time to time and hear that nice clear crisp click.
