Time for a new hunting jacket. The old Cabela's Gore-Tex shell finally gave up the ghost this last season. I'm eyeballing the Sitka Downpour jacket. A bit pricey, but looks like it will fit the bill. Packable, lightweight, breathable, waterproof.

Opinions either way are appreciated.

Nice set up. I have a buddy that buys hard-side luggage at the local thrift store for $5 per bag and bolts them onto his KLR. They last about a year or two, then he chucks 'em and buys another set.

It sure was. You can still find the odd Savage 99 over here chambered for the Hi-Power. You'll pay a premium on it, though. Model 99's in good shape are pricey.

I picked up a brick of 1000 Wolf primers at our range shop for about $22. Remington and Winchester bricks are running around $26. Not too bad. CCI #34's seem scarce at the moment.

I have an issue paying the hazmat fees so I stock up from Cabela's or Scheels when I pass through Reno.

Yup...I've had this on my Android for a couple of months. They're really good about updating it with new reticle types, scope makes, etc. Very handy to have at the range.

I'm assuming from your post that both lowers are for the 5.56. In that case, I'd stick with the 6.8. Good enough for deer and piggies at your common hunting ranges.
