If you're castin' 'em outta wheel weights they oughta shine at those speeds. I shoot a gas-checked boolit outta a Lyman mold at around 2190fps and they hold together just fine... no leading and accuracy thats as good as I can shoot with iron sights.

Gun Lubes, Storage vs. Use?

I have a number of Winchester 1894/94s; most of which I keep separated and in long term storage. I tend to use different lubes on those I'm not planning on shooting for awhile (more like years rather than months). Does anyone else? If so, what do you use? I like Winchester primers as they seem smoother to seat than CCIs, but have used Federals w/no problems also. As far as powder is concerned, I find that specific guns seem to like specific powders and end up testing even after someone has given me a recommendation.

Max load in their regular guide shows 9.5 grains, I don't recall what the various manuals list as a minimum, but I can't believe it's less than half. Probably around 6.5-7, I know I switched to RedDot as it's cleaner burning & I felt safer in the minimum range with lighter bullets.

IF... you're able to see it, the finger lever on a 92 is a long oval with no protrubences; the 94 has a flat, squared corner in the forward, uper corner to press against the trigger block safety. But, the above answers are correct also.
