Winchester only offers the wimpy 200 grain loads in the 356, 358 and 375 Win calibers. Ptuey I say. Should be more like 225s in the 356 and 358 and 250s in the 375. And the 150s out performed the 180s in the 307 when it came to trajectory. Much closer to 308 Win trajectory than the 180s. The little ...

If you found a price for 150 grain 307, I'd like to know where please. I saw the 180s are about that, but no where could I find a price on the 150.

I've got 3 boxes of the 150 grain and can't find it for sale anywhere to get a price. Also have a box of 17 180 grain PP too.
Thought I might list it on GB. Unless that fella what got that killer deal wants it.....

Use the same "tape" you'd use for checking engine main or rod bearing clearances. Avail at most hotrod shops. Like: Plastigage . Yep, that's the stuff. Lay a strip on the back of the case head and close the bolt. Measure the width of the smushed plastic on the paper the plastigage came on...

Tim, The 94 is a pretty basic tool, and if you have a modicum of mechanical aptitude, a couple of hollow-ground slotted screwdrivers, and something to use as a punch, it's a piece of cake to get to the ejector. The whole tang assembly comes out with two screws, the lever and lever link drop out with...

I'd have to vote for the First Model Maynard in 36 cal.
The Ferguson is cool, but seems too delicate for my clumsy hands to use in the field. I like the caliber though.
Hunting a first model would be cool. I'd like to see one of the old-style Maynard priming systems in action.

It was called a Big Bore Winchester 94 and the cartridge is the 307 Winchester. It's a rimmed 308 Winchester.

You can adapt seating plugs with a touch of knead-type epoxy. It works well on lubrisizers also.

Hadn't gotten dirty enough yet. +1 I wipe the outside, the bolt rails, and the exposed lever parts with the action open with a teeny bit of Ed's Red and I may brush out the innards. If I get it really dirty or expose to water, I'll disassemble and clean and then wipe. I never clean the bore of a ca...

Re: Rossi '92 and cast bullets
, a Lee Push-through sizer will be a really simple and cheap solution. Not if there is a constriction in the breech end of the barrel. Hot gasses ripping past the bullet after it passes the constriction will deposit lead the entire length of the barrel and accuracy will not be optimum. He HAS to re...

Re: Rossi '92 and cast bullets
If there's a constriction in the bore that sizes a cast bullet smaller than the rest of the bore, nothing will stop leading except fixing it or jacketed bullets. If Rossi won't fix it, lap it. That's not even close to SAAMI spec, and there's pretty much nothing a user can to to a gun to reduce bore ...

Re: Rossi '92 and cast bullets
I'd be sending it back to Rossi I think. Maybe take some soft lead and do a throat/leade cast. Take a case and fill it almost full of lead and then drive enough lead through the bore and thud it until you get a good piece of lead in the shape of your throat/leade. If the restriction is not very long...
