Re: OT--Colt Conversions

in the 1860s the .45 Colt was not around therefore they would have used one of the calibers of the day that fit. I think if you try to convert the .44 round ball cap and ball revolver to .45 Cold now days....you only get a 5 shot cylinder due to the size of the ammo. If you convert a .36 caliber rou...

Any of the Conversion cylinders are sort of pricey compared to the regular black powder pistol. The R&D cylinder is not a bad choice.

Inital thought for me would be 1873 Winchester in 44-40 Replica and Colt chambered in the same caliber. Working on it would be no problem should a problem arise and can ditch it for a new Winchester of the day when I get there. A Coach gun would prob. be up there on my list also.

I may be inclined to say early Colts since they pretty much took mass production to levels never seen before at the time. Revolutionized not only the gun industry but the way companies mass produced.

Just curious.....if an individual ships say....two boxes of ammo do they need to mark it has hazardous and pay the HazMat fee?

I ask because I have two old boxes of ammo and im thinking about running a trade ad with them but if a hazmat fee may not make any deal worth a trade.
