The 70 series are real hard to beat in my experience. No Gold Cup right now but have a A1 model that shoots as good as I can. Made in 74 the year I ETS'd from the Pickle Suit experience. This one will stay with me a long time.

What is the diameter of that 44 Mag barrel ?
If it is a nice .428-.431 just have that barrel rechambered to 44-40 (44WCF). Maybe cost $50... That would be my plan.

Have a BFR 475 Linebaugh that would be my first choice revolver. But I would by far be opting for my Mossy 12 gauge with .735 round ball cast of wheel weights pushed to 1550 fps.

That will keep you shooting a few more years. Extending the sight rearward sure does a lot to improve the bullet placement.
I like those Marbles with the ready to adjust windage. Have a receiver sight on our 99 in 300 Savage. Does make a fast way to sight

Firing an 8mm jacketed in most any 06 action would make a mess of things. Ya here about these conditions happening off and on. Sure a good reminder to look twice when dealing with more than one ammo type on a bench.
