I think Kirk makes the case that the old guns at 100 yds with iron sights cannot really be outdone with the new ones with a scope.

J Miller - look into Tap O Cap - you can make your own percussion caps with soda cans and caps from a cap pistol.

Have it hard chromed - go the other way if it shoots well. Spend the dough and have something indestructible and useful. Leave the screws in for plating otherwise I have heard they won't stay.

In some loading data Red Dot does indeed look faster, Speer, 230 gr 45 Auto in #11 for example.

243 BLR 81, 30-30 wouldn't really do what I wanted which was flat out to 300 yd capability.

But, got the 94 30-30 within a year.

Hmm Tutt, good question - this was bagged right where you first hit the 400 yd plate with your 375 H&H. By the way, Charles was asking about "Dancin Guy". Those are holes from his 1956 Model 70, 270 in the middle of the target, 1st time out.

He picked this up and we took it to the range - fed everything he had and hit where it should from 50 yds to 125. Very slick and light. Anyone have an idea when a K0714xx would have been made, imported by Interarms. With a Puma head on the left side?
