Joe it ended well, that's all that matters. What happened to the Marlin 35?

I hunt 90% of the time in thick, dark areas. I've found that XS front sight or GREEN fiber optic front for me......they stick out like a sore.."....." if you know what I mean.

Winchester 1894 30 WCF RIFLE---no pics, sorry

:D :D Good day overall.... I went to the range today and lo and behold my friend Mickey breaks out a 1920's (950K serial #) Winchester in 30 WCF (30-30) with a curved butt plate and rifle barrel (24 or 26" ?). The finish was well worn, not abused. Everything about this rifle was a pleasure. The...

Re: What to do with an unsatisfactory lever gun????

Joe,
I would part it out. You'd probably make more money on it that way, than selling it outright with the bad barrel. Then you could look for another.

Or....you could talk to 20cows ( of puzzle fame) and see if he has a barrel layin' around he would swap or sell you.

My .02¢.........Thanks, Tom

Shoot it and see if it's up to your standards.

You could fire-lap it.

And if those are not a suitable option, re-bore to 35-30/30. (equivalent to 35 Remington) :D
