gents; Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions - plenty to think about. Two of them may not work too well: 1. My slip on shotgun type sling can obscure the front sight, and 2. I must confess that I have not measured the bore diameter of my Win/Miroku 1895 in .405 Winchester, but I have shot factory Hornady 300 grain softpoints in it and it shoots where I point it. Interesting timing - tonight I met a man from Wellington, NZ who founded a company named Cistera here in Dallas. He now lives in Toronto. Since I have done business in both cities, we had a nice visit. I enjoyed hearing the NZ accent again. :)

My guage caught .3 inches, but the clouds and showers were nice and cooled things off a bit.

It appeared that our Farmersville place may have had a bit more, so I will call my grandson and ask him to check the guage that I gave him.
