Most of the .308 Enfields will be marked GRI from the factory in India. The shape of the magazine will be different too.
Some pictures would help if possible.

Here is a picture of a .308 / 7.62 NATO GRI Enfield. There are fake Jungle Carbines out there as well.

Jason, I believe the problem lies in the low velocities at which you're shooting. Your 1:38" twist is simply not stabilizing your bullets. Even from a rifle your cast bullets are probably doing less than 1200 fps and the jacketed bullets are going even slower. The idea behind the long twist wa...

I'll have to check my notes, but I'm pretty sure I eliminated that as the issue some time ago.

Another issue is it will not feed a wide flat nose bullet like Cast Performance makes.

I looked one over at one the local shops. Seems like a well made pistol and liked the feel of it. I just can't get a good grip on the tiny slide. Ended up selling a really nice CZ 75 for the same reason.

I've been a big fan of the .32-20 for a long time. I bought a Model '92 while I was just out of college and it was eevery penny I had at the time, but that $438 was some of the best money I've ever spent. :D

I've been looking at the thermal/ digital scopes lately as well. I was thinking of putting one on one of my little Savage .22s, since I live just inside the city limits. I know that in bright sunlight, I can’t see a red dot for snot.
Prefer the green, but the only one I have is a red Sig Romeo. That one sits on the Ruger 5.7 and is pretty much my indoor, bump in the night carbine.
