Has anyone here successfully removed the finish from a browning rifle? I'm not sure if a conventional stripper would work on that plastic looking finish. Any experiences to share?

I will be handloading for this so I can afford to shoot it enough to become proficient with it. This is my first big bore pistol, so I have a lot to learn. I did shoot it a few times though and was hitting a 3.5" group at 40 yards. I thought that was ok for me, a newbie at shooting pistols.

The lowest price I have seen recently is $389 for a grade 2. The catch is that shipping and insurance are tacked onto that, plus FFL fees. Sounds like $399 FTF is a pretty good price to me.
