The great Jordan whitetail buck that was number 1 for many years in the B&C book was done in with a 25-20 . Now James Jordan did shoot that deer six times I think .

Re: Cast bullet path in game
The 550 grainer mold came from BallistiCast but I also had a 462-465GC mold that came from I think they were called BPR it kinda had a nose like a Ranch Dog mold which I liked quite a bit . Anyway that 465 grainer shot extremely well in the 4 or 5 45-70 in which I tried it . At the time I had three ...

When I first replied to this I forgot a 25 cal I had for awhile . Actually liked the gun but it wasn’t the best choice for what I used it for ! Remington brought out a limited run of 700CDL’s with blued fluted barrels and walnut stocks in 257 Weatherby with 26” barrels , so I got one fifty pieces of...

I like the old school Whippet guns, so I'm keeping an eye out for a Remington 11 that needs some love. Saw one in a shop once that was bobbed and had a Cutts on it. Should have grabbed it but I didn't. At one point I had six Model 11’s , pair of 12’s a 16 and three 20’s . Now I’m down to a 12 gauge...

I’ve killed a pretty good amount of deer with cast bullet in various cartridges all were bullets I cast myself . Re: 410 too little for any game you say?
I bought a JM Marlin XLR .410 lever action. Excited to try it out I bought a box of 6's, 7.5's and 8's. Went to my range and put up an outers life sized squirrel target and started checking the pattern. It was the worst I ever saw! The BEST group was 4 pellets of 7.5's on the squirrel at 20 yards. ...

I had a 43 in Hornet. It was a decent shooter but I traded it off for a #1 218Bee. I do have a Savage 23B in 25-20, used it for mid range prairie dogs. Was a real hoot with 60gr Hornady flat points. I have an early Remington Model 8 .25 Remington project rifle. The barrel was ringed (rung?) multiple times and wildly inaccurate.
