Re: OT Prison stores

Used to go in the one at Folsom Prison when we lived in CA. Lots of neat art work. They had a museum too, full of things they took off of prisoners. One I remember was a diving suit/helmet made from raincoats. Seems a prisoner working on the dam made it. Had a hose with float attached. He was going ...

I recently bought a Chinese knock off 1887. It looks very good and seemed to function well. Until I tried to fire it, would not function, load from the tube, or eject various brands of shells. Did some research and found out they were designed to shoot Win AA hulls. I reload almost all my ammo so I ...

I can't see why we should not be able to own and use bayonets as we see fit. If I need to defend myself with a gun or bayonet, I'm not worrying about some pansy who might find it offensive.

I like it. Always appreciated a rifle with a pigsticker on it. But then, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes is fun too. Can't find the article, but a Royal Marine unit, squad I believe, was pinned down in Iraq. They made a bayonet charge and killed 20+ without loss. Thought I had it marked. Don

I looked at these at the gunshop, thought it would be too much fun. They had it listed for $1,250. For the price, I believe you could buy any lever, pay the tax -$200, do the work and still be ahead by $500 for ammo.

Used to shoot in an old gravel pit when in the Marines. Someone dragged a car out there, I wasn't the first to shoot at it. Found out that a 500gr. FMJ from a 458 Win Mag would go through the trunk, backseat, frontseat, dash and break the intake. Could have stopped the car by firing at the trunk. Don

This is a good time of year for me to shoot. The family plows up an acre of ground right at the range for a garden. Lots of rocks and dirt clods to bust at all different distances. Every thing from 22, 444, 270, 35 Whelen, 45-70, to 458 Win Mag is used.
