Re: Ruger Old Army price or value
I've been thinking about going with black powder exclusively for a year, just for fun. I've thought of ROAs or Remington 1858s for the farm and maybe a big rifle for pigs. Had a pal with a ROA for sale but I know he's shot the snot out of it like all his stuff. Recently discovered Muzzle Blast magaz...

I think Buck's mention of hand strength is significant to this issue. I've been an avid guitar player 40+ years, and use fence wire size strings compared to most. At 58 yo I have real good hand strength. My Ruger Hunter in .44mag weighs 52 oz, is amazingly accurate, and I can shoot it with one hand ...

A few years ago I forgot to pay the electricity at the ranch, and they turned it off. I left it off for 3 years, and taught the kids to get along without, it turned out to be a fun and valuable lesson for everyone. I recently caved and turned it back on, having only missed the A/C. The best part for...

I despise armadillos and shoot on sight. Almost stuck a F250 4×4 in a dillo hole in the high grass once...if they were the size of a hog they could do 10 times the damage. They are not bad to eat however if the need arises.

Jim I read "The Bullets Flight" years ago, with Pope's annotated margins, and found it fascinating. Loaned it to a brother, also into ballistics at the "nerd" level. Wouldn't it be great to gather Pope barrels at your convenience.

Great pictures and good shooting. Snap shooting pigs in thick cover reminds me of quail hunting a bit. The front sight advice is some I'll try and remember, going to hunt pigs with 44 mag ruger this year and have not got a pig with it this year yet.

The snow will cut our trip short and knowing this, I thumb in three shells, lever one in, and set my Winchester on half cock. I recall a deer with white face, and white antlers, the rest being normal colored. This one as well, came under the too cool to kill category. I always hope these cool deer will make good seed bucks, till some other hunter comes along with different plans.
