Re: Anyone have some .38 S&W's they can spare?

Yes I have Sixgun. I have a few .38 Specials cut down for some distant past project or other ... and I will use them. I have another thing or two that I can do also. This gun is not the gun to see if you can get .38 Special power. The loads will be light loads of Bullseye or else black powder. And n...

Re: Anyone have some .38 S&W's they can spare?

Jim I've enjoyed the resurrection of the popgun. I know I have at least one box of new casings in my stash, maybe two. They were for a project I dropped almost 40 years ago. Casings depend on how much hurry you're in. I go in for a shoulder replacement tomorrow so it could be two weeks or more befo...

The following is outdated and is no longer needed ... thank you all!

I would like to have 5 or 10 cartridges .... fired ones would be great. So far I can't find anything online. I can make cut-down .38 Specials but would like a few of the real thing.

UPDATE .. the old H&R pistol

The H&R is back together and working. Thanks to Sixgun's suggestion I took a Bic lighter apart and was able to make a return spring for the single action sear. Now all the gun needs is a set of grips which I will order this week.

I agree with Rockrat. You could restore that thing but it would take at least another cylinder and barrel. Perhaps more. I am not sure why anyone would drill a hole in a bolt stop? Unless that one was bulged by an overload ...... If you can get it for $200 or less you can afford to put some money in...

Re: Range Day With The Forgotten .22 Single Six

I'm pretty fond of those dovetail sight Sixes myself. Do you have the rear sight filed down? Seems to me they usually shoot high. No. I filed down the front sight a bit to raise the POA at 20/25 yards ... all I did to the rear was widen the notch so I could see the front sight better. I had the Sup...

Range Day With The Forgotten .22 Single Six

The wind was blowing today .. gusting to 10/12 mph which did not help with target work. But I weathered the gale and shot the Forgotten Single Six with 6 different kinds of .22's to see how it did. Shooting 20 yards .. resting the barrel and holding as steady as I could in wind. All at 20 yards. Agu...

My tests with the WFN's in the 454 showed me that they have to be run really fast to retain accuracy out to 300 yards.
