I sent my 30-30 off to Jesse at JES reboring and it came back A 38-55, so little if any additional work. As to where to send it...the best is Turnbull but to get the best you gonna pay. Re: Winchester 94 #1368647
Good morning,
There are most often small numbers or letters stamped on either side of the lever on Winchesters. These are inspectors marks which were applied either during the manufacture of the receiver itself or during the assembly of the full rifle.

What caught my eye of the '92 is that it has a pistol grip and curved lever. Also, didn't have my tape measure, but I think it also had a 26" barrel. Was the pistol grip a common option? Think its the first I have seen. Receiver has little finish and is quite pitted Bad news was the bore isn't...

Thanks so much for the links and images. I think that indeed the puzzle may be solved. I have just registered on the FAL Files forum and will post a thread there. Did you ever get a chance to look for the photos of your 1892's which had this marking on them?
Thanks again

Mystery solved. The marking is a stamp from the Argentine arsenal FMAP-Rosario. It is sometimes seen on FAL parts kits from FMAP. I agree that the left most rifle is most likely a Marlin. The three SRC's have all had the rings removed from the mounting stud. The right most rifle is most likely a, 1892 but it is a take down frame rifle not a "button mag carbine" since that gun does not have a barrel band around the fo...

The holes in the receiver really kill the potential value of the rifle and the stock has been brutally sanded and the fit to the receiver is lousy. You did well to pass on the gun. The wood should fit as shown in the attached photos.
