Digital auto charge scales and powder?
For the last couple years I've just been using a small inexpensive digital scale to weigh powder charges for my reloading. I was using a couple old balance beam powder scales that suddenly went hay-wire and scared me! Anyhow...I bought myself a Hornady Loc and Load auto charge powder handling scale ...

I bought my Browning 1886 SRC online from a Cabela's gun library (Minnesota)...anyhow..at first everything went well...my FFL got them rigged-up with his FFL copy and shipping info...I had paid up front online...the Cabela's gun library personnel acknowledged everything in order and would get it shi...

Re: Winchester .44-40 brass/ammo?
I got my work done early yesterday so decided to shoot some .44-40 from my older Rossi carbine. I have a fair stockpile of reloaded ammo with Missouri Bullet Company 200gr lead over Trail Boss to shoot up. I 'cherry picked' ten of the worst dinged/dented Winchester cartridges to shoot as well. Not m...

Re: Winchester .44-40 brass/ammo?
I don't own a .44-40 revolver...just Winchester type rifle and carbines. My old Winchester src is 'special' as it leads bad with any of several lead bullets I've tried. That carbine has a pretty tuff bore though. I've been loading 200gr jacketed bullets over Trail Boss and the carbine shoots pretty ...

Winchester .44-40 brass/ammo?
I bought a box of Winchester brand .44-40 cowboy ammo the other day just to plink with and refresh my reloading brass. That's really the first box of .44-40 ammo I've seen in a store! Pricy stuff at $42 a box..but then I think I had paid just under $40(per box) plus freight for a couple boxes of PCI...

When I bought my bad bored M1892 carbine..the guy I got it from threw in a nos Winchester M94 .44-40 barrel(in the white..front sight base too). Has all the normal Winchester model and caliber stamps. Supposedly these barrels will screw right on a M1892 and he had bought one intending to re-barrel t...

I've noticed several sales on Taurus handguns the last few months :?: I bought a stainless M85 2" .38 revolver myself in July that the particular distributer had on sale/discount. I can say that I've had reasonable luck with Taurus products...although plenty of shooters wouldn't touch one with ...

Yeh...I guess the IMR 4198 can is more or less burgundy...4227 is pale blue...3031 is red...4831 appears to me to be a bright crimson red but I think it's actually orange...anyhow..I had/have never seen rotten/deteriorated powder before. It appeared to me as the powder itself had oxidized into rusty...

That's cool!...I own the same Browning carbine and have found it a superb shooter...even with the factory carbine type rear sight. Don't think I've ever seen 4198 in a yellow can before...must be old old. I had an interesting experience with an old red can of 4198 powder a couple weeks ago. I was pe...

Redding 'Profile' crimp dies?
I have an old rotten bored M1892 Winchester .44wcf carbine that just will not shoot lead bullets...no big deal as it will shoot .428/.429 200 gr jacketed bullets fine. My first attempts at .44-40 jacketed bullet loads with my fairly new LEE dies were about awful...I would either crush the loaded rou...

Yes...remove the screw at front of magazine tube while retaining the cap it holds...then you can remove the tube cap, spring, and mag spring follower. Sounds like you have that all out. Drift out the band pin usually left to right and the mag-tube should be free to remove...forearm cap too....then c...
