Re: Anyone shooting a Sig 556?
Anything made in the last four to five years from Sig USA is suspect, the 556's being among the more suspect. This is so not true. Have a few Sigs including a couple of 556 and I would trust either Sig 556 over an AR platform any day. Thousands of rounds and not a single failure to feed or fire. Ac...

Re: Alaska - rifles and COLD storage
It is quite probable that the temperature will reach -80 below in some areas and wind chill will need to be subtracted from that. -80 minus another 50 for wind chill = -130 degress F is quite possible and in some areas probable.

Re: .30 carbine... Am I missing something?
I carried a 30 Carbine back in the late '70s deer hunting. Wasn't too impressed with it as a deer cartridge, but at the time I was using hardball ammo. Never lost a deer, but often needed more than one hit. Also tried a Winchester 351 and 401 around the same time with similar results. Next carried a...

Re: Weights differ between Rossi, Chiappa and Winchester 92's??
I wouldn't take the Rossi stated weight too serious. Rossi has quite a bit of latitude in choosing wood and that wood is of many species. I have a Rossi M92 with wood that is near blond and very light and another Rossi M92 with walnut which is dark and heavy. I suppose the M92 they weighed that day ...

Re: Oregon Arms Collectors BIG SHOW 8/25-8/26
I enjoyed the show and saw lots of very fine weapons. Tables filled with very fine rifles, shotguns, handguns and accessories. I probably won't go back though at least for a few years. Unless I win the lottery and can walk in with 5k-100k of cash that I can afford to spend on a firearm that I will l...
