I have made lube cookies by pouring melted wax/lube mix onto the top of hot water. The wax will float on top of the water and when cool/hard, the sheet can be removed. I use the harbor Freight mini chop saw to cut 50-70 brass down to 56-50 Spencer.

It works in Old Armys and Remington clones but I don't know about others as it drops at about 0.457in. If you use a lubrisizer I suppose you could squeeze it down to 0.454.

If you just want a satin finish Birchwood Casey Stock Sheen and Conditioner will do it. If you really want to strip the finish Citristrip works as well and smells better than most varnish removers.

I had a Marbles sight on my Browning 1886 but I wanted to use other posts so I bought the Improved version of the Marbles. One negative on the Big Lubes from Whyte - He used quite a hard lube and I was finding bits of lube stuck to the target at 25 yds - not good for accuracy. I now cast my own and use a 50/40/10% beeswax/Crisco/canola oil lube and don't get any fliers.
