Re: Marlin 1894 .44 mag front Ramp / sight height
One other way to get a good measurement is if you have a pair of locking pliers like a 'Vice-Grip', you can very gently turn the screw until the jaw tips just touch the span you're trying to measure. Then measure the opening with a ruler. Just don't squish your sight in the process. If you look at t...

I still don't like to give 'kids' a semiauto until they have several years of shooting experience; part from a safety perspective, and part from a skills-learning perspective. If you have a single-shot you get to be a better shot, in my opinion, and value shot placement over 'volume'...

If that screw is causing your vertical stringing, it means the screw is bottomed out in the barrel. It shouldn't be. I do believe that shortening that screw so it doesn't apply upward pressure is a much easier fix than redoing the entire magazine. THAT makes lots of sense; I hadn't thought about th...

Under recoil, the rifle and thus the top of the monopod move rearward. This changes the elevation of the muzzle and shifts the POA/POI. That's what it seems like bipods do, to me. Maybe less if their legs don't flex foreward/rearward much (like the Harris), but the ones with more leg mobility (so y...

At least that's one they can't realistically outlaw the 'ammo' for - they could outlaw lead, but you could make saboted flechettes or something similar. Besides, 'stocking up' on 10.000 'rounds' of pellets isn't going to break the bank like 10k of .308 Win would...!

The Savage's and Marlin's are excellent, and both are usually quite accurate. No lever-gun I know of sells for less than the Henry.
