If it were original, you would have to add a couple of zeros to the left of the decimal point. I think the mere fact that the starting bid is $500 is proof enough that it is not original. Got to credit the seller for publishing the letter in its entirety though. Caveat Emptor.

I have suggested this before in similar posts, so if anyone trusted my suggestion perhaps you could corroborate. Try Nok-Out. It is a deodorizer. It has worked on everything I have thrown it at. And, it is even recommended for carpet. Just google Nok-Out.
