I've seen them in gun shows in California for 900.00 to a 1000.00 in the last two or so years.Felt like I stoled mine 400.00 +.Every once in a while they show up at places like Cabela's.I have never seen one that was mint.

You may want to keep an eye on your local Big 5 Sporting goods store ads as they often have the Savage w/scope for under your budget.Just remember tax and all the added Calif stuff for your total .They also do Lay-away.Scope won't be great but just to get you started.

Managed to find one of these in 41 magnum so I'm hoping this will work with the Marlin.I have a few questions one do I need any sort of case lube?There appears to be no need for a shell holder or am I missing something here?Kind of a neat gadget!

Weaver scope repair was bought from the original company.they repaired the original all steel Weaver scopes pre 1983.They had nothing to do with present day Weaver scopes.

Called them today to see about getting some work done but was informed that they are going out of business .Another good one down the drain-they are out of parts.I wish them luck in whatever they do,the lady I talked to was polite and informative something you do not always get anymore.
