Thanks Blaine. That is exactly how I found that buck after shooting him. He is not posed. That was the first day I got to hunt after Mrs.fordwannabe had her heart attack so it was a good hunt. The target is a picture of 5 shots at 50 yards with a 230 grain gc from a NOE mold using Ben's red lube. N...

I'm sure you've heard about Ben's Liquid Lube formula? I've been using it for awhile now and like it a lot! Fastest I've shot was over 2400 f.p.s. out of a Savage 99 in 300 Savage with no leading. Re: Savage 99 questions/comments
I've had a few 99's over the years. Some were take downs, rare calibers and rare models. I'm down to three a 99F 358 Win., 99F 243 Win. and 99A 250 Savage. Depending what caliber and model they are getting a little harder to find and prices are getting up there. That said, my local gun shop has two ...

Its the same here. Rust is always the biggest problem. Bought my 03 Rubicon new and put it up winters so its rust free. Mainehunter, I am on the long side of 78 and don't cipher real good anymore so tell me how Jes is going to take a 450 size bore down to a 358 bore. He did a 30-30 up to 38-55 for my son and it is a very accurate rifle JerryB, it was originally in 308 Win. As far as I know all Ruger GSR came in that...

Sorry, those Ruger Americans are just ugly rifles, no matter what caliber they're in. I do like my stainless Ruger GSR that I picked up in trade a few months ago. I'm...

Besides these two I did have a 300 Savage, 250 Savage and a 30-30 but I think the 284 Win. did have the best trigger on it. The only one I have left is my 99F in 358 Win. I've o...
