I finally got a deer with the 40-65 Bullard. It wasn't a trophy by any means, but I had a doe tag for mule deer and got this one with one shot at 120 yards right through the heart...

Me too. That is Gumwood, but overall the gun looks good. The bore is the real key to it's value. Dark but good rifling, it could easily bring over $1,000.00.

I found this gun at Christmas time and decided to buy it. It is a real nice original 1886 Deluxe 45-70 There were plenty of rocks to sight it in on out to and beyond 100 yards. It is original in original condition and does letter. These guns are rare and even more rare in this condition. The bore is great and the gun functions and shoots fine.
