I picked up a nice conversion at the Cody gun show. It is a 17 pounder, with a L.N. Mogg scope in 45-110 caliber. Burgess was a very inventive gun designer …… he had lots of good ideas. His pump shotgun is one I think still could be very successful today. Wasn't the 44 American the same physical size as the 44 RF only CF? I sincerely doubt it's a 44-40. Joe I am sure you must be close.
