Count yourself lucky she only wants you to have a cell. I regularly go out into the desert where there is no signal (well, sometimes there is but I ain't telling). So she's been pushing the idea of a sat phone. I think I negotiated it down to one of those satellite based emergency position beacons....

Thanks for posting I worked with, trained with, and know many of the people involved with this. In 2003 I was the Joint Operations Center Chief in the Crisis Response Element (CRE) for that area and what we were still doing there. Very good discussion on what happened.

The red dot sight and scopes make it much easier for me. Some of the newer Class etched optics are fast and easy to focus day and night.

Never heard a mtn lion kill prey or scream. Did you train him to stay away from bears? He hasn't been trained to hunt bears, just going with me around the farm in (AK Brown bears and wolves, WV BLack bears) HE has seen both and didn't try to chase, so far even when chasing pigs and deer he stops on...

About the only place I don't carry a handgun is in Canada when driving too and from Alaska. I don't feel that bad with a Co-Pilot, a Rem 870 Marine, and an AR-10.

I am lucky enough to have two .45 LC lever guns, an old Rossi and a Newer Henry Carbine. I like the Rossi more than the Henry due to weight. A normal Night response (depending on how the dog launches) is an 870 Marine with red dot sight with two Buckshot then slugs. Or a lever gun in .44 or .45 with a red dot sight.

Most county and city judicial systems have computer access for the public you could search through. Remember to do Civil, criminal, and traffic. Next, some locations have what is called a Criss Cross that list everyone in town. Finally, try the property records, Good luck.

I'd love to say my 1895 GS and Single six. But the truth is it'd be my Springfield Scout Squad and my Randall lefty 1911A1. I know the 7.62x51 and the .45 acp well. I know they work when it counts. But you forgot one shotgun. In that case my choice is a lefty Remington 870, 12 gauge of course. +1

This was my wife's Christmas Present. She said she wanted another auto knife for her range bag and I got an e-mail saying they made some Buck 110s as auto knives so I got her one. Her comment "It's pretty" but she likes it.
