Meeting forum members.
Had lunch Thursday with a forum member and his charming wife. It's so encouraging and refreshing to talk to like minded people. So much negativity bombards us daily that talking to fellow patriots keys us to remember there are far more of us than of them.

Nice going. Nice to see another Bullard in the group. Mine could be a twin except mine has a pistol grip. Have you got the Bullard books? I hope to shoot a Buffalo with mine (40-75-260) this winter. Is yours a true 40-65 or 40-75 ?

Outside of hunting and the like I do not open carry. I never leave the house without carrying, just not open. Furthermore I am a firm believer in what I've heard called the "Grey Man" concept in that I do not wear anything ( NRA shirts, Pro 2ND shirts, etc) that draws attention to the craz...

Just curious...Why do you desire enamel cast over regular cast? I've used cast iron for decades, but have recently started using a high quality triple clad stainless steel. It heats more evenly, and if used on low/medium heat like cast iron I can't tell the difference, except it's way easier to cle...

Wife would like a Dutch Oven. Enameled Dutch Oven. (We) bought her one at Walley World. Error on a couple of levels. Lodge cookware -what WE bought - is USA made says I. Well yes and No. Fine reading reveals that Lodge is US made except for the Enameled selections which are made in ......drum role.....

Someone awhile back (wayyyyyyyyyyy back) asked for some pictures of my 40/75/258 Bullard. As a dumb kid some 50 years ago I mixed up some brown tinted bedding compound to fix a gouge or ding in the pistol grip of the stock. That is what that brown dog doo on the pistol grip is. I seem to recall some...

I have always wanted to shoot one down. It was one reason I always went armed back in the day. I figured that if I could get a cast bullet into their flux capacitor or maybe the FTL Drive it would bring one down. Heck, a .45 caliber semi-wadcutter through most any part had to be damaging enough tha...

My experience (with mine and others) is a new hand cut muzzle crown and 2650fps/165gr bullet tends to tighten things. That is if you have a problem to begin with. I think sometimes too much is expected of this COMBAT/SERVICE. rifle. Not that exceptional examples don't shine.

A Western Field (Mossberg 48A) tube fed bolt gun my dad bought for my mother in 1930's. Shoots short, long and long rifle much more accurate than I am. Receiver sights, fairly nice wood and glass, crisp trigger. Coyote,Bobcat on down it's done it all.

They will be used in a Lipsey's .44 Special Blackhawk. Hotrodding is not an object. That said this Ruger will hurt you before you hurt it with any reasonable Special load. These bullets going to waste is what I'm trying to avoid.Old Savage wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 12:20 pm What gun ate you using? Ruger? What velocity do you want?

The situation is thus: I no longer have 44 mag pistols nor rifles. What I do have is a box of 500 (or so) 300 grain, cast, bevel base SWC. I can find no data for such for 44 Special. Anyone waded in these waters? Safely out a 4 5/8 barrel is the the minimum, even close to max not desired. Unique the...
