Re: Nick Cage, "The Old Way", yea or nay?
It's a well known story line for most Western movie fans but I at least try to watch any new western that comes out. Some end up being good or okay.....some end up being very bad. I have also learned to not go by most reviews. Different people have their different view of what makes any movie a good...

Re: Finally Shooting My Winchester Model 1901
That video is one of the best for showing how slick the action on the originals really were. You sure got yourself a nice old shotgun  Thanks. Yeah, some of the newer cheaper copies give them a bad name but both of my original 1887 and 1901 shotguns cycle nice and smooth. Even my Norinco c...

Re: Finally Shooting My Winchester Model 1901
Spencer made shotguns? Yeah. He actually was the first to make a pump shotgun as we know it. Tube magazine under the barrel, and a bakelite pump handle with action bars that doubled as extractors. It had a big spring loaded breech block. It extracted the empty onto a big radius cut on top of the br...

I like them too. I am NOT a shotgun guy at all but really like the 87 an 01 Winchesters. Just cool old guns. I used to have a really minty 1882 Spencer 12ga too. That was a neat shotgun too. Cool video! That is really nice shape. I have an 1887 12ga. Ive had it 25 years but never fired it. Rarely see the 1887 and 1901s around here. When you do, they are really rough. Mine isn't bad, but doesn't have the finish yours does. I have an original 1887 also. Someone reblued it many years ago ...

Those 87s are a lot of fun. I had one of the Chinese knock-offs a while back and it needed some slicking up to run smoothly, but it gave me a taste. There was a guy who ran one in 10 gauge at my old Ashland Gun Club back in Oregon. Every time he fired it, the big booming bass of a blackpowder shotg...

Winchester Model 1901 10g.
This past weekend I picked up a Model 1901 in 10g. I am looking to find info on loading smokeless rounds for this gun. Not much available online. I will be using (more than likely) plastic hulls cut down from 3.5” to the required 2 7/8” length. My 1917 made gun is very sound and shootable. I would l...

I am very jealous. That has been my dream gun since I was a young boy. Oh no.......why, just why?
I like the Schofield and have a pair of them although they do not fit me as well as the Colts do. I am all for making your gun how you want to make it but that is just funky. I much prefer my Cowboy guns to stay Cowboy and my modern guns to fill that niche.
