You could always take a sample of that new oil that just went in and send it to a lab.They can tell you alot about what is going on in the engine. First thing i would be worried about is the turbo.Its turning hard down the road and bam no oil, it would be like reving the engine hard and just shuttin...

If you were shooting 223 try 556! The extra pressure may help cycle the bolt better.I know of two guns that do that.

Just bought a 10/22 in SS. the standard config. with barrell band .The plastic stock is ok but not quite right so I ordered
a M1 carbine conv. stock for it and a set of peep rear with winged front post sights. Anyone here do this? Looks like a great

The 150gr GMX is as long as a 180gr cup and core in 30 cal. I have shot some into soaked newsprint at 30yd and 100yd and didnt get half the expansion as the 150 interlocks I normally shoot. Both are at 2800fps out my .308. I think at 300 mag speeds they would open much nicer. For close range on a ha...

Think about the optics install carefully. Most ones I've shot with them the glass sits way to high
for the stock so you lift you're head to see. You also start taking that "simple ruggedness" away
from the rifle.

If you're friend is stuck on a bigger cartridge just get a rifle that fits well, is a little heavier than most,
put a quality recoil pad on, maybe a muzzle break, even get a mercury tube installed in the butt.Properly
set up it should not hurt to fire it. A 7mm-08 set up this way would be a pussycat.

I have some 55gr fmj bullets and some Re15 and have read its better with 62gr and up. I'm thinking of trying
some Varget. I have had some success with some 50gr noslers with the new CFE powder also. Not looking for match loads
just something consistent in the proper burn rate for the cartridge.

The pin that holds trigger is sometimes sloppy. I drilled through the holes one size bigger and installed a machine pin properly sized and lubed.If the bolt is stiff and tight you can take apart the bolt and cut the firing pin spring down 1/2 a coil.
