Re: OT Which bullets for a Garand?
You didn't mention the purpose of the bullet...... hunting, plinking, or competition? In the '06 I prefer the 165 - 168gr bullet for about everything I do. That includes hunting, plinking and competition. Your particular barrel may prefer something different. Load several weights and try them on a N...

One of the best movies for period accuracy of both equipment and weapons has to be "The Wind and the Lion."

Seasidehunter, That 1 of 3,000 doesn't happen to be made for Wincester, by Miruku of Japan does it? It could also be the Miruku made Browning model too.
Markings on the barrel should confirm if it is a Winchester originol. Good Luck

I use that same bullet, the 260gr LFNGC, as my hunting bullet of choice. The only difference is that I fuel it with 30.0gr of H-4198. It is accurate as well as deadly.......

Re: One of the reasons to carry a belly gun when in the woods
I ALWAYS pack....... either my .45 or my Glock 40. Neither weigh much and, if needed, "oh pelosi" doesn't get it. When stationed in California, in the '60s, I had an experience that still haunts me. I stopped my the 7-11 Store on the way home, left my handgun in the vehicle. The store was ...

Re: OT - Lee Breech Block Vs Turrett Press
I have used Lee products for a long, long time. I have four dillon loaders + and old three hole turret Lee. I probably use the Lee the most. Changing caliber in the dillons are a pain-in-the-ass like the other guy said. You won't regret buying Lee. The money saved can be used for bullets, brass, pow...

I used to hunt both Fort Benning, GA. and Fort Rucker, Alabama. Moved out in the country and have hunted my own land since. If you get the chance to hunt Fort Rucker you may get a good sized hog as a bonus...... they have plenty.

A little off subject but has anybody noticed how Obama and his "gang" are busy "programming" the next group for government dependency???? I am part Lakota (Sioux) and yes it does seem when we drink we overdue it. And yes, the white-eyes never did keep any of our treaties either. ...

Re: Need Primer on AK Magazines
Try the Yugoslavian 30 rounders, they have a "bolt holdopen" feature that no one else offers. Once you remove the magazine the bolt slams shut on your empty chamber though. It just lets you know "whoops empty" early. If you can find them get the Hungarian 20 round "...

Now that is interesting. I like, and use, a lot of Hodgdon powders and like em all. I guess that marketing these "golden egg" powders will boost powder sales in time of tribulation.

I bought a 1942 (my birth year) Model 94 and "caught the bug" on leverguns. Since then I have bought a Model 94 Legacy in .38-55 and a Winchester 1886 lightweight in .45-70. Both of the later rifles have the "rebounding hammer" feature. My neighbor came over with his Brown...

Learned something new a week back, and will pass on the info..... For all of you using a tumbler and media take one of the little womens bounce sheets, cut up in 1" to 2" squares and add to the media. Does wonders in keeping the media clean. When the bounce squares get dark just replace wi...

Re: Nother hand loading gripe - the trimmer!
Another "+" for Lee. I have been using them for years to do over 17 calibers. I even had one custom made, by Lee, for my 6.5 Grendel. They are simple to use (I motorized them) and cut each case to a standard length. This reminds me to look for my RCBS trimmer I packed away. Time to sell th...
