The ammo supply is definitely making a comeback here in Sacto. The only things still missing are the popular powders. IMR and Varget are non-existent. Other components can be found, though. Bulk prices for .223 and 9mm are still too high. Getting bulk 45 Colt is pretty tough. Haven't seen that local...

It should. My Rock River Arms has a heavy 1in9 barrel that seems to do fine with the 55's. It prefers 62's but the 55's are accurate enough to be entertaining on the steel range.

By visiting a couple of local stores, I've managed to re-supply my stock of 22 and 45ACP. Prices are a little higher than normal, of course. 45LC is non-existent except for some pricey Magtech Cowboy Action stuff. 223 & 5.56 are showing up now in limited quantities. Stores are limiting customers...

My wife's uncle spends time on his mining claim up along the Dennison Fork of the Fortymile River NE of Tok. He uses a short-barrelled Mossberg 500 loaded with alternating slugs and buckshot. He calls it his "Bear Swatter" and keeps it close-at-hand at all times when in the field.
