Re: Colt Disappointment Update

I wish I could say that I believe the people from Colt were actually going to take to heart anything the OP said, but the fact is that they have heard those complaints many, many times before. While they will placate an irate owner of a problem pistol and sound as if they care, the fact is that the ...

I think the problem will more likely be a case of shooting the action lose vs it grenading all at once. I understand that feeding a steady diet of 357mag in their '73s will also shoot the action lose so I've no reason to think that their 44mag version will be any different. Either way, a steady diet...

Well, now that I've got it back running I've realized that, like pilots of retractable gear airplanes, it's not a matter of if but a matter of when. I guess I've been lucky the 10-12 times I've used mine. I'm starting to think maybe a steel angled plate in front would be a good investment.

No Hobie, I think you're pretty close to spot on. I agree that some new shooters will buy these thinking that with a hot load, they will make good hunting rifles. Then they'll go out and buy DoubleTap's or Buffalo Bore's hot loaded hunting rounds and have the makings of a very bad afternoon.

Truth be told, I'm not a real fan of Rugers. I've had a couple and they are built like tanks but they also are heavy and bulky to me, especially their 44mag versions (both Blackhawk and Redhawk). That said, their new 44spl flat top is the exception. Its is built on the smaller, lighter 357mag frame.

Ruger's new 44spl flat top single action is a great choice because its made on the smaller and lighter 357mag frame size. Couple of friends at the range got them and think they are the ticket. http://www.gunsamerica.com/951648347/Guns/Pistols/Ruger-Single-Action-Revolvers/Blackhawk-Type/Ruger_Model_...
