Why not just do a chamber cast of Cerrosafe and be positive? Dropping a cartridge in wont tell you what it is for sure as a .308 will drop right into a .30-06 chamber. So you still wont know positively what it is without a chamber cast.

Sounds simple, but doing it this way your bullet will all hit low. They don't fly as level as a laser does! So need to adjust for bullet drop either before, or after that one shot.

I've had cylinders begin to bind on some of my older S&W revolvers after a lot of shooting. They usually have .003" clearance from cylinder face to forcing cone and doesn't take a huge amount of fouling to slow the action down a bit.

I was loading up .45ACP today and found two boxes of 185 gr. JHP Sierra bullets in my bullet storage. Boxes of 100 were marked with a $6 price tag. I guess I've stashed them long enough, so loaded up 200 rds. with 6.0 grs. Unique at 775 fps. Makes a nice comfortable load to shoot.
