My favorite band of all time. A few years back when I was a LEO, their manager asked my unit for an escort to their venue. It was out of my jurisdiction but....Lynyrd Skynyrd! We did it and I got a chewing out...but worth it. Afterwards the band was going to take us to a local place to party but the...

Re: Guns and Ammo

I found Mack's Prairie Wings last year online . I was looking online for Buffalo Bore 45-70 that I could use for elk and bear defense. BB has one in 350 gr that expands a little bit but great for grizz and elk. BB wanted 80+ and $30 shipping. Mack's sold me all 6 of their boxes for $63 each and free...

Reading through the 32-20 thread posted by Jim reminded me of this rifle that Marlin marketed for only a short time, maybe two or three years, and I don't believe many were produced as they have always been scarce. Re: 6.5 Needmoor vs .243 Win.

Well...I hunt elk with a 45-70 or 30-06. In my opinion, that's a little much for antelope. I bought a Savage .308 for antelope but could not get consistent small groups. I don't reload so I tried several different rounds. So I sold it and bought a Sig Cross in 6.5 CM. I shot Sako TRG 136 gr, Hornady...

I carried a Kimber 1911 for years on duty and SWAT. Shot thousands of rounds and never had a problem other than replace the spring two or three times. Mine was very accurate and reliable . I shot the micro 9 but it moved around in my hand too much. I just couldn't get a good hold on it.

I'll take 30-30 over either the 45-70 or the "maybe obsolete in a couple years" .360. I've always had several 45-70s around, but just don't get the use and versatility out of them I do with my 30-30 chambered rifles. I'm kinda the opposite. I have a couple 30-30's that I love. A 1961 Winc...

Arm Brace Trap

I didn't put this in politics because it may apply to several members and potentially make you a felon. Gun Owners of America made this video at ShotShow. What it boils down to is if you have a pistol with an arm brace, it is going to be classified as a short barreled rifle,(SBR). You have 120 days ...

My favorite 9mm "pistol". It does go through a lot of ammo quickly. My G-kids love it though. On the falling plate racks, they rarely miss using the red dot.

I had a great time fall and winter hunting in Wyoming. My middle son came out and we put in a lot of miles hiking. He got a small bull elk (5×4) and an antelope. I ended up with an antelope earlier and a calf and cow on the elk refuge "hunt" last month. That hunt is crazy but really fun on...
