The Most Effective .22 Mouse Gun Ammo

I have been using whatever, usually the .36gr HPs that are in Value Packs from WallyWorld.....I wonder if the Stingers or (insert your favorite here) would penetrate or otherwise be more effective in a little mousegun. That's all I need. You can't kill anything within 25-yards with yer .44 Magnum or .357 Magnum that I can't kill with my 158gr Jacketed SP or HP .38 Special +P. You can argue all you want that that's just no so but you'll just be talking to the wind. Hey, make a separate thread on that one, ok? That...

I'd agree to that with the contition that a perfect shot presents it's self (behind the shoulder, brain shot, etc)......You're not goint to get penetration worth a hoot with a 158gr special load, IMO.

I make that statement about .45acp 230 hardball and 25yds, and think I'm right, too

To be specific, the load I'm working up will throw the 350 grain .458" hardcast bullet at a rather sedate speed of 1500 FPS, generating only about 1750 ft. lbs. at the muzzle. Energy is such a misleading factor in killing power that I pay no attention to it at all. A 350 grain .458" hardc...

I've shot the S&W 500 in the X Frame and I owned a BFR in 45-70 that I shot some max loads out of.....They are a handful, but for me, with a thin leather glove, were not abusive. If there is a better crafted pistol than the BFR, it's WAY more money, but prolly not more quality.
