Thanks fellars, Merle made it from two square pieces of wood put a groove down the middle of each then glued them together. Then used the side grinder and sanded them round. Today we made a wind chime, ya make a 1/4 or half inch slit down the side about five inch long, attach the caps on a board so...

before my eyes gave out I shot IHMSA metallic silhouettes out to 200 meters.
mostly I used a 6" Dan Wesson 357 mag, and a Ruger old model Blackhawk in 45 Colt.

don't know if this is of interest, but there were several "postal matches" last year that were for milsurp iron sights.

My only 32-40 is a TCR-83, with double set triggers.
Since it is a single shot, I tried to use it as a Schuetzen rifle, but found I wasn't all that adept at it. :(
At least I did have fun with it at some local matches, so.......

. That's a very nice lightweight (note the raised wood around the action) sporting rifle with DST's. IMO, the only thing to do is find out if the 8x57 barrel has the early (.318" 8x57J) or the later (.323" 8x57JS/S-bore) bore size. IIRC, commercial 8x57 ammo is all .323" (since 1905)...
