I'm not willing to, or planning to, do anything illegal. I plan to get ahold of Border Patrol and Dept. of state in advance to make sure that we don't exceed any limits on transport or break any laws.

Mules, being hybrids (of a horse and donkey) are STERILE. Therefore, you can't (except for very rare exceptions) breed a mule to anything.

Sounds like time for a beaver hunt, LOL. Failing that, I think a gator hunt would be a hoot! You're hunting from a boat, and you can fish or whatever while you're there. Dangerous game makes for better stories and memories, and it'd be relatively low impact.

Tie between a '92 in .357 loaded a bit hot or a .30-30; they both carry well on a horse, in a truck, or anywhere else. I'd like a levergun in .22 mag, but I'd have to find a heckuva deal on bulk ammo.

Grizz, The reason most folks will call headshots unethical is that your average hunter does little shooting, and is probably more likely to wet his pants than place a headshot properly. (because he's wetting his pants) I know a lot of guys that spend a lot of money on guns, optics, ammo, camo, etc.....

H-110 is not a good choice for lead bullets. 2400 is much better for what you're doing. It leaves a lot of unburned powder, though.

Their brass is shorter, too, which I think is just stupid; some beginner will put the wrong loadin his once fired brass and get blown up. Hornady won't be liable, but they darn well ought to be.
